I've been trying to download Zoom and Microsoft Teams onto every computer in my organization. I thought that logging in a computer as an Admin and downloading them would automatically make them available for the other users in the same computer, but that is not the case. However Microsoft Edge and Chrome were available for the users once installed.
I have tried to look for solutions by googling stuff. Somebody somewhere said to put a shortcut to these programs in the Public Desktop, but when I did that and logged in as another user, the shortcuts were visible in the desktop but did not work. Instead I got error messages saying that file "has been moved". My next approach was to figure out the difference between the programs that were available to all users and those that were not.
It seemed to me that the programs that are installed in "program files" or "program files x86" are available to everyone, but those installed in the "AppData" of a particular user folder are not.
So I've been thinking of copying and pasting the Zoom folder and the Teams folder in the admin "AppData" into either "program files" or "program files x86". However, I've been wondering if there is a way to set up the computer so that programs downloaded and installed from a browser can be installed into these folders and not in the "AppData" folder. How to make a third party program available to all users in a computer?
Or how to fix the shortcuts in the Public Desktop? Is there a way to get the computer to install in program files and not in AppData rather than doing copying and pasting each time? While Zoom was designed as a communication tool to connect individuals in an informal manner, it has quickly become the leading choice of enterprises. Zoom download is preferred by businesses around the world to connect with teams remotely.
The company offers affordable plans for small businesses and provides them with multiple features, including VoIP connectivity. During Zoom Meetings, participants can share their screens , making the app an ideal choice for collaboration on content projects.
Most importantly, Zoom can be accessed via a browser , giving respite to participants without a standalone app downloaded on their Windows computer. Though businesses often look for paid subscription plans, the free account offers multiple useful features. For instance, with the free Zoom app, you can host virtual meetings with up to participants. This makes the free version of the application a great choice for individual users.
However, you can still save them offline on your computer. Zoom is a feature-packed video conferencing, meeting, and calling solution for Windows, Android, iOS, and Mac devices. While Zoom has been used as a communication tool around the world, there have been some privacy concerns regarding its usage in the US. As such, a lot of people look for alternatives to the program.
To use Zoom for videoconferencing on a computer, you must have a microphone and webcam installed. To install the Zoom client or app, select the link for the type of device you are using. Often, when invited to join a Zoom meeting, you receive a web link in an e-mail or a meeting invite for your e-mail client's calendar to join that meeting. If you don't have the Zoom client or app installed yet, you're prompted to download and install the program.
After joining the Zoom meeting, you may have to wait for the host to accept you into the meeting before being able to participate. If you didn't receive a link to join a Zoom meeting, but you do have the Zoom meeting ID, you can manually join the meeting. At this point, you can choose to start a meeting immediately or schedule a meeting to start at a later date and time. After clicking or tapping Save for the scheduled meeting settings, a calendar invite is created and opened in the e-mail or calendar program selected in the scheduled meeting settings.
Add people to the calendar meeting invite that you want to invite to your Zoom meeting, then send the meeting invite. You can invite people to join a meeting already in progress, whether you're a host or a participant. On a mobile device, you can send a meeting invite through a text message by tapping the Send Message option after tapping Invite in step 2 above.
To protect the Zoom meeting, participants joining must be accepted into the meeting before seeing others or sharing their screen. If you are hosting the Zoom meeting, open the Participants to see who is waiting. If you recognize the person waiting, hover over their name and click the Admit button. If you are not the host and joining someone else's meeting, you have to wait for the host to admit you into the meeting before you can participate.
If the host doesn't accept you into the meeting after waiting a few minutes, contact them over e-mail, text message, or another form of communication to remind them you're waiting. The steps to start screen sharing depend on the device you are using.
